Image Licensing

The images you see on our website or in our photo galleries are copyrighted and you may not copy or distribute them (for example by downloading them, saving them, taking screenshots etc). These images are covered by the terms and conditions of use of our website.

When you purchase an image from Leask Photograpy you will be sent the image in the format you ordered (for example, a print, canvas, or digital file), and you are granted a licence to use that image in that format.

Creative Commons License
Images purchased from Leask Photography are licensed under a
Creative Commons
Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0
International Licence
.

What does this mean?

If you purchase an image from Leask Photography, then:

  • Leask Photography retains the copyright of the images you have purchased.
  • You are granted a licence to use the images you purchase as many times as you wish for any personal purpose.  Feel free to print them out at home, for example, or to use them to create a photobook for a personal gift.
  • Attribution: You must give me (the original author of the work) credit – you can do this by leaving my copyright notice (embedded in the file) intact or by mentioning Leask Photography if you share a digital image on social media, for example.
  • Non-commercial: You may not use the images you purchase for commercial purposes (for example, you must not re-sell the image, or re-license it for use by a third party)
  • No derivatives: You may not alter, transform or build upon the images you purchase to generate any derivative works. (For example, you may not scan a print to create a digital copy)

What can I do if the licence doesn’t cover what I’d like to do?

If you would like to use the image for any of the purposes which the licence does not permit, please contact me to discuss your needs, as I can usually help.

I don’t understand any of this!

Don’t worry, if you’re just using the image you purchased for personal purposes you should be fine. If you have any questions at all then please get in touch.
